Halloween/Scarecrow Festival
These are some fun pictures we took at the Scarecrow Festival down at Thanksgiving point. We also got some pics of "some" of the candy the kids collected for Halloween. I think we have enough stash for the whole year. Good gravy.

The Love of my Life-TAG
What's your husbands Name - Evan Judd Coon
How long have you been married? Just about 5 years, married January 23, 2004
How long did you date? Ya, who knows. We dated in high school and for about 8 months after his mission until we got married. So like... just about forever :)
How old is he? almost 27, November 29th... put it on your calendars
Who eats more sweets? Definitely Evan. He is the sweet treat king.
Who's the better singer? Evan. He's pretty good.
Who is smarter? Is it mean to say me?
Who does the laundry? I wash, he folds, I put away. At least that is the plan.
Who pays the bills? We both make the money; I pay the bills.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Depends on which way you look at the bed I guess. I sleep on his right side. That's how it's supposed to be right.
Who mows the lawn? Ya... once we get some... he will. I have never touched a lawn mower in my life.
Who cooks dinner? Me. Evan makes mac and cheese.
Who drives? Well. If we are together he mostly drives.
Who is the first to say they are wrong? Neither one of us is ever wrong. You can imagine how our arguements go.
Who kissed who first? He kissed me, but first I had to get him warmed up to holding my hand and sitting by me on the couch. When we were dating it was totally me. He didn't care though.
I tag: Tayna Adams, Andrea Brunson, and Ashley Shawcroft.
We have to stop these soon. Not too many people play this game.

Tag
Ok. So I totally suck at following this tagging thing. So... there will be a few that I need to get caught up on.
Tag- Let's just see how quirky you are- Tell us about 5 unspectacular quirks of yours...
#1- I hate when people do not wash their hands... at any time. Especially after using the bathroom and procede to cook food. Nasty.
#2- I really don't like when people do something stupid while they are driving and then pretend not to notice, or really don't notice they almost killed someone, because they are on their cell phone.
#3- This one is a bit racist.. but hey... We are in America right. I hate when patients come into the ER and don't speak English and expect me to accomodate them and get someone to interpret for them because they did not bring their own translator.
#4- Cheap perfume. If you are going to spend time looking nice and getting all "dolled up" isn't it worth it to spend more than $10 on a bottle of perfume. Spend less on your hairspray and make up and spend more smelling decent.
#5- Again rude, but tight (and I mean tight- we all know what I am talking about) shirts on large people. Who are we kidding. Enough said.
After this, I think I am about the rudest person on the planet and I am crawling into my dark hole to think about the bad things I have said. Time out.

Another week...
So... yet another week has passed in our quiet neck-o-the-woods. Taylor is still off track, J.J. is still a crazy boy, Evan is still in school and working, and I am still in school (even though I started a new class). We are really looking forward to Halloween. Since this is the first year in our new house, we are really looking forward to decorating it for the different seasons. for Halloween, J.J. is going to be Captain America,Taylor is going to be Super Girl, Evan is going to be Batman (or superman), and I am going to be Wonder Woman. Kind of themed. I know. But it is great fun :)

Quick View
So. I am sitting hear with a completely congested head full of information from my psych class for my final... and I really needed a break. Decided that since I hadn't posted anything on my blog for a while it was a good idea. My happy face isn't working out for my mood today, so I figured I would post the video that I have been working on for our "year in our family" video. It's definitely not finished, but it sure is cute :)

Good Fruit

Strengthen the Hands of Your Fellow Beings
If you feel evil, keep it to yourselves until you overcome that evil principle. This is what I call resisting the devil, and he flees from me.
So... lately I have been really focusing on how to improve the environment in our home. In the singing group that I go to with my mother in law and two sisters in law, we were let in on a great enlightenment. How often is our mood affected by the attitudes and feelings of people around us? I have made a conscious decision to try to not "drop bad fruit" and to always try to have a smile on my face. I have noticed a great differenece in how it affects my mood, my families mood, and the people I come into contact with. Now, I'm not saying that I am perfect... I am female with hormones, kids, school, and a husband (as wonderful as he is...)... life has stressors. Here is the quote anywho for anyone that is interested in taking on the challenge of keeping our bad feelings, thoughts, happenings, and whatever else may come along to ourselves.
"A trouble shared is a trouble doubled".
Discourses of Brigham Young Second President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints- Page 123By John A. WidtsoeContributor John A. WidtsoePublished by Kessinger Publishing, 2004
When you are influenced by the Spirit of holiness and purity, let your light shine; but if you are tried and tempted and buffeted by Satan, keep your thoughts to yourselves—keep your mouths closed; for speaking produces fruit, either of a good or evil character. If persons think they have greater sorrow and affliction than any others, when they reveal that sorrow and affliction, it produces fruit. You frequently hear brethren and sisters say that they feel so tried and tempted, and have so many cares, and are so buffeted, that they must give vent to their feelings; and they yield to the temptation, and deal out their unpleasant sensations to their families and neighbours. Make up your minds thoroughly, once for all, that if we have trials, the Lord has suffered them to be brought upon us, and he will give us grace to bear them; and that they do not concern our families, friends, and neighbours, we can bear them off alone. But if we have light or intelligence—that which will do good, we will impart it; but our bad feelings, our desponding feelings, our dark hours, and disagreeable sensations we will keep to ourselves. Let that be the determination of every individual, for spirit begets spirit—likeness, likeness; feelings beget their likeness; and custom, custom. You know very well, by your own experience, that you are naturally inclined to more or less adopt the customs, feelings, and manners of the people you associate with. If, then, we give vent to all our bad feelings and disagreeable sensations, how quickly we beget the same in others, and load each other down with our troubles, and become sunk in darkness and despair! If you have anything good to say, speak it and comfort the hearts of the Saints. If you have that which tends to death, keep it to yourselves: we do not want it, for we already have plenty of it.Frame your lives according to the precepts of the Gospel. Let your deal, walk, and conversation be that upon which an angel can look with pleasure. And in all your social communications, or whatever your associations are, let all the dark, discontented, murmuring, unhappy, miserable feelings—all the evil fruit of the mind, fall from the tree in silence and unnoticed; and so let it perish, without taking it up to present to your neighbours. But when you have joy and happiness, light and intelligence, truth and virtue, offer that fruit abundantly to your neighbours, and it will do them good, and so strengthen the hands of your fellow-beings

Hello Friends and Family

Hello peoples! I have no idea what I am doing... so I don't know if it's kosher, but whatever right. We just moved into a new home in West Jordan (finally...), started a new school year for the big peoples, and Taylor just started her first year of kindergarten. Evan is working on his engineering degree and I am finishing up my last year of nursing school. There is an end in sight.
We figured this was a good way to keep in touch with family and friends all over the country because we all know there is not enough time in this great life to talk to people we love!
We are so excited to be in our new house. It is our first purchase for our family and we live in an awesome ward. It is a rambler with a very open basement that we hope to start finishing this next year so we can have another baby. Evan has been working very diligently on the landscaping; with the help of our family who we can't thank enough for helping.
Taylor is loving kindergarten. Her teacher is Mrs. Schultz and she is going to have a baby boy the end of October. Taylor has already said she will be very sad when she goes on maternity leave, so we have been trying to prep her for the separation. She is getting very good at her numbers, letters, and shapes. She is so excited to learn new things. She has also been taking gymnastics and loves going every week. She practices around the house, so hopefully nothing breaks... in the house or on her.
J.J. is growing so fast. He is learning new words everyday and is so much fun to be around. He is always happy and laughing... he LOVES to jump on everything... including people so watch out! He is such a joy to have in our family and he loves his big sister and has to take care of her and do everything she does.
We are so excited to have everyone post comments on what is going on... thoughts... feelings... happenings... Please, please, please tell us everything. Keep in touch.
We love you all,
The Coon Family
